In February 2019, MakoLab finalised the process of joining the Sovrin Network by signing an agreement with The Sovrin Foundation as the second company from Poland. Consequently, we joined the group of 70 companies from around the world involved in the process of creating solutions dedicated to enabling self-sovereign digital identity for all.
Working with Sovrin, we can finally close the gap between identification of companies and their authentication in the digital communication”, said dr Mirek Sopek, CTO of MakoLab and president of LEI.INFO. “The LEI system is perhaps the best system ever created for identification of Legal Entities (companies, trusts, partnerships and many other kinds of organizations) across the globe. Adding mechanisms for the digital authentication to LEI will help in the combat against business impersonation, frauds and will help to build trusted KYC and AML solutions. As we have been working with HL Indy on our GraphChain system for LEI since some time – we are ready to go with Sovrin!

MakoLab and other new Stewards that joined our network, show how organisations around the world are taking a stand against the current, broken framework for digital identity and verification,” said Heather Dahl, Executive Director & CEO of the Sovrin Foundation. “The Foundation welcomes support from every organisation who believes in the principles of self-sovereign identity and the opportunities that a decentralised identity network can support. Becoming a Steward is one of the many ways to do so at the Foundation.
