New version of the German ScooterKingZ site – an online store built on solid foundations

Published

In December, the new version of the German online store scooterkingz.com was launched. The owner of the portal – ScooterKingZ GmbH is a supplier of spare parts and tuning accessories for scooters popular both in Germany and across Europe. The company is actively developing its brand, gathering fans of two wheelers by means of social media portals (http://www.sqtery.pl) and organizing a yearly event of legendary status – the Scooter Weekend.

Operating chiefly online, the company contacted MakoLab concerning a refresh of the German store (scooterkingz.com) and consultancy on a solid e-commerce platform, able to serve thousands of available products. The technical parameters of the platform on which the site would be developed were of pivotal importance, hence the selection of OXID Professional.
Apart from the platform’s scalability, modularity and reliable and quick support of vast number of transactions, an aspect worth mentioning is the role that OXID Professional played in efficient feeding of the enormous product database of ScooterKingZ during the initial phase of the project. Obtaining such an amount of data from two different sources of the store’s offer (Solr and Pixie) consumed significantly less time thanks to the application of technical channels of the OXID Professional platform, than it would require if conducted through integration with databases. The successfully conducted integration enables the store’s operator to feed the database directly and control warehouse states.
As part of the project, other tasks set before MakoLab’s specialists included the integration with PayPal payment system and enhancement of navigation across the store’s rich offer by means of filters. The artistic design team was responsible for the site’s visual appearance. The site is fully responsive (RWD) and operates flawlessly regardless of the device of access chosen by the user.
